Today my tip is Gone Mobile episode 12, AppLinks are Riveting, length 29:28.
AppLinks is the possibility for mobile apps to connect to eachother. Metadata for the apps are published and when you in you’re app use AppLinks to let user connect to other apps on their mobile, a link to the metadata tells your app what to open.
Sounds complicated? Let’s say that you share a Spotify tune on Facebook. You’re friends who click on that shared link in their mobile Facebook app and have Spotify installed will get their Spotify app opened and the song starting to play. There are also ways of linking back to the origin.

Jon, who is always co-host of the show, have some more detailed information on this and he have also built a C# implementation of AppLinks called Rivets.

If you want to know more listen to the show and check out AppLinks and Rivets.
