Today I’ve listened to .NET Rocks episode 1010, Teaching New Developers with David Graham.
The other day I listened to some shows on how to put together a development team and work remotely. Today’s show is about teaching new developers. There’s a shortage of developer’s today and the guys talk about the best way to learn, the best tools to use and how to get into the industry.
They mention Pascal being used still today. That’s the first language I studied back in the 90’s. I guess the good part is that everything I learned still is in my head when it comes to the core knowledge. Logic, problem solving and so on and that is good and it doesn’t really matter what language you use. But as mentioned in the show it would be better if the schools could adapt to the industry faster and use current languages.
